Sudoc wins Imagine H2O 2023 CrocTank Award for Water Innovation Pitch

Working at the intersection of chemistry and climate, Sudoc’s powerful, nature-inspired oxidation chemistry makes cleaning and treatment processes better while reducing energy, water, and chemical use.

Sudoc, LLC (“Sudoc”), a chemical company committed to environmental sustainability, has won the Imagine H2O 2023 CrocTank Award for water innovation pitch. Sudoc’s TAML® chemistry is a platform technology with remarkable oxidation capabilities that replace and eliminate toxic chemicals in a wide range of cleaning and environmental treatment applications. The Imagine H2O award comes after Sudoc was named a Top Ten Start-Up to Watch by Chemical & Engineering News, a World Changing Idea by Fast Company, a Top-Ten Nature-Inspired Innovation by the Biomimicry Institute, and the BlueTech Forum Disrupt-o-Meter award for most disruptive water technology in 2023.

Seven companies were selected to participate in the Innovation Pavillion at the WEFTEC convention held in Chicago from October 2 to 4, 2023.  Each company presented a pitch to the innovation audience and three estimable judges: Eliza Roberts (Microsoft), Snehal Desai (Xylem), and Ralph Erik Exton (Grundfos). Sudoc won the CrocTank for its water treatment brand NEAT and the application for applying its patented, nature-inspired chemistry to help pulp & paper companies process waste cardboard into tissue products using less energy, water, and chemical. If the pulp & paper industry adopted NEAT industry-wide, the world could save 120 billion gallons of water each year and reduce carbon emissions by 3.5 Million tons CO2 eq., big wins for both industry and our planet.

Sudoc is working with companies to make chemical processes more efficient in terms of cost, energy, water, and chemical use. Sudoc is working with leaders in pulp & paper to bring NEAT to operational scale.

A Founder and the CEO of Sudoc, Roger Berry, stated “To be selected by Imagine H2O and this high powered panel of judges is just an incredible recognition for Sudoc, our water treatment brand NEAT, and each and every person who contributes to our mission to bring chemistry in balance with nature. Helping pulp & paper companies generate more value out of recycled cardboard is good for their revenue, but also a big step for the circular economy where waste can be turned into value. The sustainable chemistry behind NEAT can ultimately help industry and utilities remove a wide range of micro-pollutants from our water.”

Scott Bryan, Imagine H2O's President, commented that "Sudoc is primed for massive market disruption and leadership that inspires us all to reach further.  We see real opportunities for companies like Sudoc as they force the market to consider alternatives to current chemistry.

Kelly Trott, Senior Vice President of Imagine H2O and host of the CrocTank, added, “Sudoc stands out from the crowd with a groundbreaking shift in chemistry. The team Roger has built is relentless in its pursuit of value and remarkable in their honesty, candor, and spirit. We are proud to have Sudoc as part of Imagine H2O as they represent innovation and leadership in the water space."
